Program Manager, Ocean (项目经理,海洋)

Title:   Program Manager, Ocean (项目经理,海洋)
Location:   Shenzhen
Reports to:   Deputy Chief Program Officer

Major Function:  
This position is to support Deputy Chief Program Officer to incubate Ocean Practice, including strategy development, resources integration, network establishment, and project management mechanism development, and team setting up. And meanwhile work together with peers and partners in deliver ocean project objectives and promote the ocean protection awareness of key stakeholders and general public.

Main Responsibilities:
1. Support DCPO to develop WWF China’s Ocean Practice strategy in line with the overall WWF China’s strategy 2020, and establish stakeholders’ network on Ocean protection.
2. Support DCPO to develop proposals on Ocean protection and coordinate to leverage and integrate resources for projects.
3. Responsible for the development of workplan/budgets, reports and required communication materials for the Ocean Practice activities in China to meet the Ocean strategy objectives and contribute to global Ocean protection goals.
4. Responsible and supervise daily project implementation in China to ensure the activities and the outputs are in alignment with WWF China’s Ocean Practice strategy.
5. Keep regular and effective interactions with partners and stakeholders to enhance their supports. 
6. Keep a strategic and innovative thinking to develop technical approach, systematic pilots and partner network for future themes as well as potential working areas in Ocean protection. 
7. Keep close communication and cooperation with colleagues of programme teams in cross-cutting protective areas, aiming at collective high conservation impact, and with colleagues from other departments to magnify project impacts and leverage resources. 
8. Lead the coordination of relevant programme exchange, stakeholder visits, and donor activities in and outside China. 
9. Support DCPO in Ocean team build up, staff recruitment, capacity building, working culture cultivate etc.   
10. Perform other tasks designated by the supervisor.

Working Relationships:
1. Internal: Close working relationships within programme teams. Occasional and ready contacts with other WWF China teams. Regular and ready communications with WWF network donors. 
2. External: Regular interaction with related governmental sectors and close contacts with local partners. Regular communications with external donors. Occasional contacts with media, public associations as well as other conservation organizations. 

1. Master degree in marine science, conservation management or relevant discipline is preferred.
2. At least 5 years experiences in relevant field, more than 2 years in managerial role is preferred.
3. Strong project management skills, results oriented. 
4. Good knowledge and acute sense of working with different stakeholder groups of conservation in China.
5. Excellent communication skills, able to communicate effectively and efficiently. Good command of English.
6. Adapted to frequent domestic and international travel. 
7. Optimistic and determined, able to solve out the difficulties in tough situations.  
8. Innovative, willingness to update professional knowledge and skills. 
9. Team worker, ability to respect and work well with people from different cultures and background.
