Position title:  Finance Director, WWF China

Direct Report:  Chief Operating Officer, WWF China

Location:  Beijing, CHINA

I. Mission of the Department: To ensure the effective management and control of WWF China finances through the identification and management of financial and operational risk. Ensure timely and accurate financial planning, budgeting, accounting and reporting, including compliance with Swiss GAAP, China GAAP and local statutory requirements. To provide supports to the WWF China Leadership Team. 

II. Major Functions: Under the direction of the COO, the Finance Director has overall responsibility for the Finance function of WWF China. He/ She is required to supervise and support the organization’s operational management, national office transition as well as plan for the program’s growth and anticipated financial needs. Provision of training for staff, as well as ensuring adequate skills of the finance team and financial stewardship will be an important part of the responsibilities. He/ She will lead the finance team in providing project finance management, general accounting, financial risk control and financial analysis to support WWF China’s sustainable development. As a member of the management team, leads the development and implementation of accounting policies, processes and systems to safeguard and control of WWF’s financial assets and provide complete, accurate and timely financial information and records. 

III. Major Duties and Responsibilities: 
Work with national, Secretariat functions, as and when needed, to ensure global accounting, network standards, Chinese statutory requirements and organization policies are in place.
Ensure full compliance with local statutory requirements including reporting and tax to the relevant authorities.
Manage and lead annual budget/ forecasting process, providing guidance and support to ensure alignment with strategic plans. 
Contribute to the strategic planning process to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the organization objectives.
Streamline financial processes and procedures, and implement new and timely financial initiatives and requirements.
Support and drive achievement of improved financial performance and organization objectives.
Drive better transparency in financial information for better rationalization of reported KPI.
Improve efficiency, standardized processes and policies. 
Develop and effectively communicate expectations and results for the organization. Provide robust financial analysis to enable decision making in initiatives for senior management and other stakeholders on financial performance. 
Monitor achievement against plan, advise management of deviations and recommend action plans to re-establish performance objectives in line with agreed targets. 
Complies with the organization’s Finance and Legal policies and procedures, responds to both Internal and External Audit enquiries in a timely manner, and ensures follow-up on action items to address audit recommendations.
Ensure robust risk strategies are in place to mitigate any internal and external financial risks. 
Implement best practices and continuous improvement in financial controls and processes.  

IV. Profile

Required Qualifications
A university degree in accounting, Finance or ACCA, preferably with an MBA and/or a qualified Accountant. 
Minimum ten years’ experience in a similar senior finance leadership role within an international group of companies or INGO. Management experience within a shared service environment is preferred. Proven experience in providing effective leadership as well as day-to-day supervision to a diverse working group is required. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain clear lines of communication 
In depth knowledge of local GAAP, IAS and IFRS.

The ability to lead the design and implementation of processes which efficiently meet the needs of the organisation, supported by a strong knowledge of ERP/ORACLE and reporting tools is required; 
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with others both internally and externally to achieve strategic goals of the organization.
Proven interpersonal, influencing and people-management skills, complemented by excellent written and spoken English and Mandarin a must;

V. Working Relationships:
1. Internal: Working closely with local management team, WWF International Finance and WWF Network.
2. External: Liaise with external auditors, external consultants and government bodies, banks and tax agents.
