Location: Shanghai
Main Responsibilities: 

Support the WWF China Water Practice Leader for the development of strategic plans and manage the relationship with key partners. Assist the Water Practice Leader to identify potential opportunities for WWF to become more efficient and effective as an organization on water and wetland conservation. Manage specific projects designed for supporting development of WWF China water practice. Be in charge of special projects of strategic importance as and when required by the Water Practice Leader.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Supports Water Practice Leader to develop WWF-China’s water practice strategy,especially Flyway and Habitat Conservation Strategy, including Amur-Heilong Eco-region wetland habitat,Yellow Sea Eco-region wetland habitat. 
Maintains and develops partnerships with related governmental Partners
Act as the NGO focal point to Ramsar CEPA programme, develop China’s CEPA strategy and demo sites;
Responsible for operating Chongming Dongtan International training Centre for Wetland Conservation and develop the wetland training course.
Develop and manage partnerships with governmental agencies, foundations, NGOs, research institutions and the media for flyway conservation purpose
Supports the Water Practice Leader on the implementation plans by analysing current situation, employing available resources and consulting proper stakeholders;
Support other pillar’s work in (across-) practice team.
Fulfill any other related tasks required by the supervisor.


Internal: supervises the Flyway and Habitat (Sr.) program officers, advisors and consultants; works closely with Water Practice Leader and Water Practice Management Team; contact regularly with other working stream team members of Water Practice, WWF national and programme offices and WWF International teams. 

External: working with the related stakeholders in water practice, including Government partners, Local NGOs, International NGOs and Corporate donors; Liaise with external partners, external consultants and other stakeholders.


At lease 8 years’ relevant working experience, 2-3 years in managerial role is preferred.
Master’s degree or above in a relevant subject area
Good knowledge of the international environment, business and sustainable development issues 
Good knowledge of different types of NGO legal entities 
Strong coordination, management and communication skills (spoken, reading and written (English and Chinese).
Discrete and able to maintain confidences.
Able to work effectively with senior internal and external executives as well as with program teams at all levels of the organizations
Strong coordination and working with teams experience
Creative and outgoing personality, with a deep commitment to nature conservation.
Good computer skills (MS Office, Email, Internet)
Ability to quickly adapt to new assignments and developments.
Good multi-tasking skills
